Frequently asked questions

Clear answers before you begin.

Learn about telehealth, insurance, self-pay care, prescribing, communication, and the new-client process.

What is the difference between a free discovery call and care navigation?

The complimentary 15-minute discovery call is limited to Thrivewell’s services, fees, insurance, availability, and practice fit. Paid care navigation provides more focused education and referral guidance. Concierge care navigation also includes a limited amount of referral research or professional outreach. These services do not include psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, medication advice, individualized treatment recommendations, or crisis assessment.

Where is care available?

Appointments are provided through secure telehealth. You must be physically located in a jurisdiction where your clinician is authorized to practice at the time of each appointment.

Do you accept insurance?

Insurance participation and benefits vary by state, plan, service, and platform. Coverage is verified before care when possible, but verification is not a guarantee of payment.

Do you offer self-pay care?

Yes. Self-pay options may be available. You may request expected charges and, when applicable, a Good Faith Estimate before receiving care.

Will I have to take medication?

No. Medication is not automatically the answer for every concern. Recommendations are individualized and may include education, therapy-informed strategies, lifestyle support, medication when appropriate, or a thoughtful combination.

Do you prescribe controlled medications?

Prescribing decisions are made clinically and are subject to practice policy, safety requirements, applicable law, and appropriate monitoring. Thrivewell Health does not guarantee any particular prescription.

How quickly will I receive a response?

General inquiries are usually answered within 1–2 business days. Email and voicemail are not continuously monitored and are not appropriate for emergencies.

Is Thrivewell a crisis service?

No. If you are in immediate danger, call 911. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, call or text 988.

Does submitting a form make me a patient?

No. An inquiry, consultation, or pre-intake submission does not establish a provider-patient relationship or guarantee acceptance into the practice.
